Urea, or in its trade name AD blue is a fuel additive for diesel engines manufactured at Explosives Manufacturing Industries Ltd.

Diesel engines generally emit gas residues as part of their operation. These materials are considered hazardous and polluting.

Currently, vehicle manufacturers are committed to adding Urea injection systems to every diesel engine manufactured since 2010.

The role of Urea is to reduce the emission of hazardous substances (NOx) by chemical bonding with them at high temperatures and breaking them into a non-polluting substance called NO (Nitrogen Monoxide)

A diesel engine with a Urea injection system emits up to 50% less NOx into the air.
